[TIN TRỤ SỞ CHÍNH]
Đi thẳng, rẽ trái, rẽ phải… Những chỉ dẫn quen thuộc trở thành nhịp cầu đưa tiếng Anh đến gần cuộc sống trong tiết học của cô Phạm Thị Thu Hằng cùng lớp 6NK3, Trường THCS Đống Đa.
Với bài “Lost in the old town!” thuộc chủ đề “My neighbourhood”, câu chuyện tìm đường ở Hội An mở ra tình huống giao tiếp gần gũi.

A SMALL MAP OPENS PATHS TO COMMUNICATION
Go straight, turn left, turn right… Familiar directions became a bridge between English and everyday life in teacher Phạm Thị Thu Hằng’s lesson with class 6NK3 at Dong Da Secondary School.
In “Lost in the old town!”, part of the “My neighbourhood” unit, a story about finding the way in Hoi An introduced a relatable communication situation. Students followed the conversation, put its events in order and identified ways to make suggestions and give directions. Each task connected vocabulary and sentence structures with their practical meaning, giving language learning a clear purpose.
Working in groups, students discussed their worksheets and matched arrows with directions. Maps featuring streets and familiar places made the lesson more concrete. Raised hands and contributions to classroom discussions created an active learning atmosphere, giving each student an opportunity to share their understanding.
The question-and-answer practice with the map placed students in the roles of someone giving directions and someone trying to find a place. With Ms Hằng’s guidance, they practised selecting information and expressing it so that the listener could identify the destination. English served a useful purpose: helping someone find the right way.
This demonstration lesson, held in the lead-up to Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20, offered an experience-rich approach to language learning. Through the teacher’s preparation of learning materials and organisation of activities, the school carefully creates opportunities for students to collaborate, practise and gradually become more willing to communicate.

A glorious tradition – Steadfast integration – Dong Da shines.
